"Prayer does business with God. Prayer creates hunger for souls; hunger for souls creates prayer. The understanding soul prays, the praying soul gets understanding. To the soul who prays in self-owned weakness, the Lord gives His strength."
- Leonard Ravenhill
Pray
1 The focus of our ministry this month is "Living/Giving," meaning that God materially blesses us so that we can bless others. Please pray that our personal lives and ministry will be characterized by sacrificial giving that furthers Christ's kingdom.

2 As our ministry leaders meet this week for development meetings, pray that they would grow in wisdom regarding their responsibilities and skills, for God's glory.

"All who call on God in true faith, earnestly from the heart, will certainly be heard, and will receive what they have asked and desired, although not in the hour or in the measure, or the very thing which they ask. Yet they will obtain something greater and more glorious than they had dared to ask."
- Martin Luther

"Give yourselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word. If you do not pray, God will probably lay you aside from your ministry, as He did me, to teach you to pray."
- Robert Murray McCheyne

Thanks for your prayers for the True Woman '10 conference in Chattanooga. God was very present, and women were profoundly touched—so much so that many of them hope to bring their friends to Indianapolis and Fort Worth for the September and October conferences! Here’s what the women had to say: "I went kicking and screaming, positive I wouldn’t get anything out of it. Praise God, I was wrong!" "The conference was like heaven on earth. Unlike any experience I have ever had. I am back in the battle with renewed vigor." "I realized this weekend that not ...

Is there a church anywhere in the world more widely known or more historically rooted in revival than Moody Church? This church has a rich history of periodic revivals and prolonged fruitfulness, and their pastor has carried a burden for revival for many years. Dr. Erwin Lutzer recently celebrated 30 years as lead pastor. His own roots include vivid recollections of revival in Canada four decades ago: I had experienced revival in the early '70s up in Canada, and once you've seen God work in people's lives, something inside you says, "We need to see this again." I ...

"The coming revival must begin with a great revival of prayer. It is in the closet, with the door shut, that the sound of abundance of rain will first be heard. An increase of secret prayer with ministers will be the sure harbinger of blessing."
- Andrew Murray

Thank you for praying last week for our annual Vision Gathering in Austin! God worked powerfully in hearts. As someone remarked, there were a few moments where God was there with a great measure of His presence. Nothing sensational. Just the acute awareness of Him. Perhaps even a "divine" moment. Divine moments are movement-making moments.
One Divine Moment
Robert Coleman's classic book on the Asbury Revival is entitled One Divine Moment. In it he describes an amazing but true summary of what God did:
One cold wintry day, students at a small Kentucky college went to their weekly chapel ...
