Who Said There Are Only 24 Hours in a Day?
Mark Bearden, one of our longtime revivalists, spoke Sunday morning at our Staff Training service. He reminded us that our prayers do not end when we die. A simple reminder. But it has profound implication for those of us desiring to redeem the time. Think about it . . .
Mark Bearden, one of our longtime revivalists, spoke Sunday morning at our Staff Training service. He reminded us that our prayers do not end when we die. A simple reminder. But it has profound implication for those of us desiring to redeem the time. Think about it . . . The impact of a life is not limited to 24 hours a day multiplied by the number of days we live. It must be adjusted by the number of prayers yet to be answered! I was reminded of this again today, when I was giving a tour of our new campus. It was exactly 6 years ago this past Saturday that the property was gifted to Life Action. AND, it was 31 years ago this month that the founder of our ministry took me on the property and prayed for the Lord to give it to us. He died in 1989 at the young age of 42. But his prayers were kept alive by the One who answers them. And in a very real sense, his prayers outlasted him . . . and so did the impact of his life.
I asked myself today, “What are the prayers I am praying right now that could extend my impact for generations to come?” There were very few. So I stopped and prayed some prayers that likely would not be answered in my lifetime. It was exciting to me to think of the influence I could have far into the future. I even prayed for God to work one thousand years from now (if He tarries) in my own family line.
Realizing my life is not limited by death is a wonderful way to live . . . 24+ hours a day!
