When God is at work in a church, His "fingerprints" are obvious. Examples of renewed life are evident as people respond in obedience to His Word.
One of our staff revivalists reports that the four summits he participated in this fall have the marks of God all over them and are the best four back-to-back summits he's experienced in his time with Life Action. Here are some of the corporate ways God has worked:
- Incredible night-after-night attendance at the meetings--a very high percentage of the Sunday morning congregation; church staffs pleasantly surprised (even shocked) at the good turnout during the week
- Many men confessing addiction to pornography and taking steps toward freedom; one pastor invited the men in his congregation to join him in his commitment to keeping their eyes and minds only for their own spouse
- Marriages restored
- People coming to Christ for salvation
- A group of ladies meeting after one summit for a time of sharing Scripture verses, and ending up staying for three-and-a-half hours, sharing specifically how God is at work in their lives
- People expressing how their entire lives are being changed as they obey the scriptural principles being taught
- Follow-up calls to the pastors, after the team leaves town, revealing that God is still working deeply in hearts
On an individual basis, one man who was not a Christian saw God at work in his wife's life during a summit. He told the team, "God has really been working on my life this week; I'm closer to the kingdom than I've ever been."
In another instance, a woman who was continually yelling at her children and husband (continuing the verbal abuse she'd grown up with) went home after the Saturday family seminar, asked forgiveness of her lost husband and her children, and by God's grace is starting a new journey with them, treating her family God's way.
A teen girl, bitter at her divorced parents, really desired to release that bitterness. As her parents went to the prayer room with her and worked through the bitterness, God also began a work of reconciliation between them.
One woman who always disagreed with whatever her husband said, just out of spite, committed during the summit to begin treating him with respect, as God desires.
A young couple had gotten deeply into debt, and people were advising them to file for bankruptcy. As the team shared God's principles of giving, the couple decided that this wasn't what God wanted for them; they committed to trust Him to provide as they were faithful to give. It wasn't long before a job was provided, and God worked through other circumstances to begin relieving their debt. As a result, they don't have to live with the memory or pressure of financial failure; instead, they are building a life message of how God actively provides for them.
