In Ecclesiastes 3:4 Solomon declared, "There is a time to weep . . . a time to mourn." Grief is a love word. We cannot grieve if we do not or did not love. God grieves over people and their lifestyles because He loves them. Grief is like being plunged into a pit. We fight for air; we plunge the depths until we find the bottom. When we find the bottom, we realize that God is there with His everlasting arms. David the Psalmist found God was with him as he traversed through the valley of the shadow of death in Psalm ...

Remembering Stephen Maines
Stephen Maines, born August 22, 1987, was killed on Sunday morning, July 19, 2009, while riding his motorcycle to a church service and charity ride for burn victims. Stephen, a second-year team member, is the son of John and Sheila Maines, who have served with Life Action for the past 26 years. Please pray for the entire Maines family. The following is a letter from our Director to the staff and close ministry friends of our Life Action family.
"For I am sure that neither death nor life ... nor things present nor things to come ... nor anything ...

I am standing outside Independence Hall, where the famous Liberty Bell resides. Of course, the bell has been cracked for years. And because of the damage it has sustained, it can no longer give a distinct sound. It cannot celebrate victories, warn of danger, or call people to action.

I have never written at a time when I felt greater urgency.
Life Action is not an alarmist ministry. But there is no doubt we live in a season unparalleled in America’s past—and that is alarming. The prophet Jeremiah would be shouting urgently from the rooftops!
How unusual are the times in which we live? The economic outlook is certainly bleak. The rapidity of moral and social descent is almost surreal. Perhaps most startling are the claims that Christianity is inherently evil. Popular secularists now declare evangelicals to be the primary cause of the problems our nation faces ...

Fifty-three communities this year experienced a measure of revival and a renewal of authentic Christianity. Souls were saved. Marriages were rescued. Families were restored. Whole churches were reconciled and transformed. In many lives and homes, the downward spiral was halted and reversed. The Lord has been wonderfully faithful! Following are a few of the amazing stories from this past year. I prepared for revival like a bachelor prepares an evening meal: "Oh, it's time. I guess I'd better do something." But my lack of preparing didn't slow or stifle God. He showed up in a big ...

“About three in the morning, as we [more than 65 men] were continuing instant in prayer, the power of God came mightily upon us. . . . We broke out with one voice, ‘We praise thee, O God; we acknowledge thee to be the Lord!’” – John Wesley describing Fetter Lane prayer meeting, January 1, 1739
1 Pray for the wives and mothers on our road team staff as they help their families transition from summer ministry and family time to the Staff Training schedule and then a new year of summit meetings.
