I was in Boone, NC, when I began drafting this update, having spoken five times in a church where we have never done a Summit, but the integrative ministries of LAM have had a significant impact. In just one day (Sunday), I heard stories from the impact of LAM through:
- Revive Our Hearts broadcasts – a man who listens every morning at 5:30
- Seeking Him – an entire church that went through the study
- THIRST conference – two youth were called to vocational ministry as a result of attending
- Heart-Cry for Revival Conference – a pastor whose burden for revival was deepened
- Revive magazine (formerly Spirit of Revival) – a pastor has been receiving our magazine for 25 years and loves it!
- America, You’re Too Young to Die! – a Christian leader asked when we are doing a new version
- Summit in Ft. Worth – a church’s senior pastor who heard about the move of God in 1988
- Summit in Savannah – a family who heard of LAM at their former church and is now applying to come on staff
- Ministry Partner Development ministry – a couple on vacation who supports one of our staff
- Lies Women Believe – a lady who just started using it with her college friends
- Revive Our Hearts conference – four ladies who are planning on hearing Nancy next month
- LAM – parents of alumnus shared the impact on their daughter and son-in-law
- Pre-summit testimony – numerous individuals shared the impact of Jim and Connie Smith’s testimony of a reconciled marriage
In addition, on Sunday afternoon I listened to an audio clip of Jordan Clark (a team member two years ago) who was interviewed on Crown Financial Ministries' broadcast last week. I don’t know the size of the listening audience, but many thousands.
All this in one day! So if you ever wonder if a difference is being made by your faithful service, just remember ... the trail we are blazing is being traveled by others who are, in turn, blazing their own trail. It’s accelerating and multiplying.
God Moves During Our Ministry-Wide Revival Week
Many of you prayed and sought the Lord (and are still seeking) for God to work in our hearts last week during Revival Week and beyond. Del Fehsenfeld shared that both point and process are critical components of the spiritual growth journey.
During Revival Week (The Point):
- At last count, at least six individuals prayed to receive Christ.
- Numerous individuals asked to be baptized.
- A new spirit of thankfulness is prominent.
- I hear expressions of joy in the Lord (even laughing).
- I am hearing stories of more expressions of love than previously.
- Intimacy with Christ has become a goal for numerous individuals.
- Financial giving by our staff has been abundant, with $29,000 given thus far toward expenses and the special project of refurbishing our camp auditorium.
Since Revival Week (The Process):
- People are meeting for accountability and nurturing.
- There’s a fresh priority of pursuing intimacy with Jesus during our quiet times.
- Gratefulness notes are being written, e-mailed, and spoken.
- Financial gifts are still coming in toward the “extreme makeover” of the camp auditorium.
- An ongoing burden for the hurting is more evident.
- Overflow to evangelism is happening.
Regarding evangelism, several Road Team members went to the mall last Saturday evening to share Christ. They served first by helping the janitors clean up the food court after the mall closed. This led to them sharing the gospel, and the hopeful conversion of two individuals who prayed to received Christ.
Annual Meetings Are Here!
Starting tonight, the Revive Our Hearts Advisory Board will begin their annual meeting. Please be praying for our guests who serve on this group, including:
- Bob Lepine – FamilyLife Today
- Greg Thornton – Moody Publishing
- John Shelford – Finance Committee Chair for LAM’s Board of Directors
Also, pray for the Revive Our Hearts leadership team as they join us in seeking the Lord regarding important decisions as we move forward in this critical mission.
Then next week, the Board of Directors and Advisory Council of Life Action will be in town. Busy days, but always full of enormous blessing and deep gratitude for the leadership God has given to us.
NOTE: This Revival Link is an edited version of a weekly communiqué to the Life Action staff from President and Director Byron Paulus.
